Story will start taking off at that exact courtyard. After 5-8 episodes (depends if they cut some story non vital segments like they did in clinic, clinic start was far longer and they cut quite a bit of boring content), intensity will continue to skyrocket. Not to mention that main plot is even more coherent and connected than Against Sky Supreme

The best part in story is that MC is probably single most original badass in all chinese novels I've read. Lazy, selfish, drunkard, sexoholic, downright sadistic arrogant motherfscker and in no way goody two shoes like most MC's. He can sit in his chair drinking wine and watching people get murdered and only ever helps if he benefits or if opponents seem worthy. On one occasion he even spends massive amounts of money to buy treasure material in auction and then starts repairing chair right on the spot dumbfounding everyone.

Also, his most used treasure is... rattan chair which he updates constantly to make it higher grade and he takes it everywhere with him just so he can sit lazy and drink wine on every occasion.

Single most original badass character of ALL CHINESE characters, wow, that's a huge feat!! Idk if that's true though, because I've seen some true badasses and that's a hard spot to fill.
